These terms are between you and TruNotes. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to do that, and “you” means that company.
TruNotes takes notes in meetings. Audio is captured, transcribed, and then deleted. What you keep is the written record: a transcript, a summary, the decisions and the action items.
It is a note-taking service, not a recording service. Meeting audio is never downloadable. One exception is deliberate: a host on a paid plan may choose to keep a single meeting's audio for a limited time (30 days on Pro, 90 on Business and Enterprise) — off by default, decided per meeting, never account-wide. That host can play it back in the app; no one else can reach it, and it still cannot be downloaded.
You are responsible for the room. Recording and transcribing conversations is regulated differently in different countries, and in some of them everyone present must agree. TruNotes shows a consent notice before every note session and records the moment you started, but it cannot know who is in the room or what the law is where you are sitting.
Before you start, tell the people present that notes are being taken. If someone objects, do not start.
TruNotes delivers a meeting's notes to the host who ran the session. Checking that they are right, and deciding whether to pass them on and to whom, is the host's responsibility — TruNotes does not circulate them to anyone else on your behalf.
A meeting record is shared with the people who were in that meeting. That is the point of the product, and it has a consequence worth stating: you cannot unilaterally remove a meeting from someone else who attended it.
If you delete your account, everything that was yours alone is destroyed. A meeting other people attended passes to one of them rather than disappearing from their account — but any audio you chose to keep is deleted with your account. Those people keep the written record, not the recording.
You own what you put into TruNotes and what comes out of it. We claim no ownership of your meetings, notes or documents.
We need a narrow permission to run the service — to store your content, send it to the providers listed in our data processing agreement so it can be transcribed and summarised, and email it to people you choose. That permission exists only to operate TruNotes for you.
We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models.
Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@trunotes.ai if you think someone else has got into it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Plans are measured in minutes of notes per month and are billed on our website, not through the App Store. A month's allowance does not carry over. If you run out, note-taking pauses until the allowance resets or you move to a larger plan.
You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months.
TruNotes is provided as it is. Transcription and summarisation are done by machines and they get things wrong — names, numbers, and who said what. Accents, crosstalk and poor rooms all make it worse.
Check anything that matters before you rely on it. Do not treat a TruNotes summary as a legal record, a contract, or professional advice.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or business, or for a decision taken on the strength of an inaccurate summary. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You can stop using TruNotes whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using TruNotes after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
